Someone watches your video all the way through, leaves a thoughtful comment, and follows you. You spent three evenings making it, and somebody cared.
What are they expecting from you next?
If you have a project or experiment underway, give them something specific to look forward to while they're still interested.
Leave them with a real next moment
Say you make balcony-gardening videos. You've just shown what happened after moving a struggling tomato plant to a sunnier corner. There's a promising new leaf, a slightly alarming brown one, and a comment section with strong opinions about pots.
You could finish with "Follow for more gardening tips."
Or you could say, "Next Saturday I'll show you how it's doing after a week in this spot, including whether that brown leaf got worse."
Now someone knows which part of the story is continuing. They can remember the tomato.
The follow-up still needs to be worth making. You don't have to slice a complete answer into five posts so people will keep checking. Finish the useful thing you're teaching today, and point to the next question that really follows from it.

Put the promise on your own calendar
Before you give people a date, look at the week you've actually got. A Saturday update sounds easy until you remember you're away from Thursday.
Choose a promise you can keep. If the timing depends on something uncertain, explain that. "I'll show you when the first flowers open" can be honest and interesting without pretending you control a tomato's diary.
Then leave yourself a note with the original post, what you promised, and what you need to show. It's easy to lose that invitation under the next idea.
Help people find their way back into the story
When you share the follow-up, give returning fans something familiar and newcomers enough context to join in.
"Last week I moved this tomato into the sunny corner. Here's what changed" does the job. A quick before photo can help too, if you have one. People shouldn't need to hunt through your last eight posts to understand why you're so pleased about a leaf.
And if nothing much happened, you can say that. Explain what you're watching for or what you'll try next. You don't need to manufacture a dramatic reveal to justify a promise you made.
For your next post, choose one honest follow-up and tell people when or how they'll see it. Put it somewhere you won't forget, then follow through.
Somewhere out there, someone might be wondering about your tomato.
